When talking about Fitted-fest you can't skip the official CDLC bus called Murdrd. It's a mad black bus with air suspension and can be lowered to look absolutely insane. The CDLC shop is inside there and all music equipment used is also stored there. With music equipment we mean a million huge speakers used to blast music across the whole carpark. It sure is a sight to see and I’ve never seen anything like it before so it was quite astonishing! Murdrd is certainly a nice trademark for the Stance community and Crème de la Crème.

Not everyone knows what the stance car scheme is all about and I can't blame them. Stance is all about scraping the ground, wheels that look like they're about to fall off. It might seem really stupid to most people, but still it's one of the biggest recent car-crazes in the world, how come?

What's up with stance?

Anchor 1

Finland hosts a really big car community called Creme de la Creme, more commonly named CDLC. Not only topping the lists for car communities, it also hosts some of the biggest car events in Finland with the largest one being Fitted-fest.

Fitted-fest is an interesting meet because it's not hard to join the community and show of your car there. This year CDLC had rented a big parking space in the middle of Lahti and had two different sections to mix it up.

The main section featured some amazing tuned cars ranging from drift cars to lowered trucks and was the main part of the show. There was a Volvo with a tuned Toyota Supra engine with a whopping 1000HP. The car was very controversial but the amazingly clean and well-built engine made up for every weird look.

Another notable mention was a truck which had been lowered to almost 5 centimetres from the floor which was really impressive but quite unpractical in our opinion. You couldn’t go grocery shopping in that!

But the question remains. What makes stance so huge today? The answers may differ depending on who you're asking but we think it’s more about the people than about the car. All cars featured on the main section were really unique in different ways and the owners were really enthusiastic about every little detail they had come up with. And that is what makes stance interesting. Every car is made with huge work and dedication. They are planned from the beginning to the end with careful decisions about color, details and tune. Every stance car should be as unique as possible and push the limits of every rule there is. The Volvo was a great example as it was a crazy idea, but with a lot of dedication they made something rarely seen before.

"It’s more about the people than about the car."

The brainless part is the fun part. Practicality has no matter in this case as the most important thing is to take all the crazy ideas and just do it. Though unlike the Japanese drift culture every car needs to be really well crafted and made look as professional as possible.

Sure it’s crazy to lower your car to 5 cm but it doesn’t matter. It’s meant to be controversial, it’s meant to be crazy. Stance is not about the car. It’s about the journey and the people you meet while building your very own crazy dream car.
